Origin of the "per Ankh"
Ca'arn Olandi

An ancient scroll in the care of the Monks of Avashire depicts a "house of life" known as the per Ankh. This place was the Temple House of the resident Monks and served as a library for Elotah, a midland province of Avashire. This sacred Temple would draw those who sought Virtue throughout the entire realm of Avashire and the Monks residing there did serve the people of Avashire, doing all they could to teach the path of Virtue.

The histories of Avashire tell of the downfall of Lord Rivelin, and well documented are the battles and treacherous acts by which he was defeated by Rothkar and the dark elves of Winstrum. This ancient scroll adds to the legacy of Rothkar, by depicting how the per Ankh was beset upon by a legion of dark elves who burned the building, and its inhabitants, to the ground. Such was the hatred of the dark elves for any who followed Virtue.

Yet the deeds done by the per Ankh were also documented, and within the minds of the Monks of Avashire did their heritage live on. After the commissioning of the Wiltshire Abbey, the founding Monks returned to Avashire to request of the Monks there to fund the construction of a new per Ankh, adjacent to the Wiltshire Abbey in Britannia.

The request was granted, and thus our per Ankh was built to serve as a library and place of learning for all who seek enlightenment in Virtue. The per Ankh houses all the texts compiled by the Monks yet at it's center, rests the ancient Tome of Virtue, the very founding document of the Wiltshire Abbey.
